Hi, my name is Jessica Subido and I am currently a member of the United States Junior National Slalom Team and the United States Junior National Wildwater Team. I'm 15 years old and have been passionately pursuing my sport for a little over two years. My goal is to represent the United States in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China.

As a student and athlete, I am committed to studying and training. The sport of kayak slalom has presented a tremendous opportunity for me to travel the world and meet athletes from other countries, learn about their culture, and serve as an ambassador for the sport I love, it also has created a huge financial burden for me.This financial commitment is unrealistic for me to achieve unless I find some financial support. This is the reason for my letter to you.

Enclosed you will find information on my expenses for 2006 through the spring of 2007. Thank you in advance for your serious consideration of my requests. I look forward to meeting with you to discuss a sponsorship partnership.

Sincerely,
Jessica Subido

Donations for Jessica

My name is Stein, I am 15 years old, and I have been kayaking since I was 10. I have been kayaking with a group called KRA (Kern River Alliance) which is a non-profit group that is dedicated to helping young athletes and their community.

A few of the athletes that have been taught by KRA, such as Sara, Nick, Joe Jr., Will, Jessica, and Jen, and me are starting to compete in slalom kayaking on a national level. For this to be a possibility, we need food and money. The money we use for travel expenses (such as gas, lodging, and food) are all provided by our parents and KRA.

However, with seven people to feed and cart around (we are all to young to drive) it starts to get expensive, And with this up coming year of year round training we need coaching, food, and gas. We have learned to use the least amount of money and to make it last (i.e. camping in a free campsite instead of a $10.00 site, and traveling in more gas efficient cars like our Honda Element and the Subaru Outback). Any sponsorship that we get whether it be small or large we are more than willing to advertise for you. (On paddles, helmets, sweaters, boats, and any other places you see fit.) We are looking forward to this next year and hope that you can join us.

Thanks,
Stein
