KRA at Junior Olympics

The Kern River Alliance was incorporated in August 1995 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We have no paid staff members. KRA is all volunteers dedicated to the preservation of the Kern River in California and its whitewater sports.

Our mission statement:
To create opportunities for kids to experience kayaking in a fun and safe environment through camps and workshops while building confidence and self esteem. Kern River Alliance Kids Kayaking Program is a Junior Olympic program that provides a rare opportunity for young people to prepare and compete on a national and international level.

The KRA Kids Kayaking Program will start at the McMurtrey Aquatics Center on June 7, 2010

To achieve this goal, KRA members work diligently on conservation and education, providing events for river users and developing a junior kayaking program.
